1999 Lightning Rims for 1993 F150.

Has anyone out there ever put on 1999 Lightening Rims on a 1993 F150? What kind of adapters did you you use? Do you have any scrubbing issues?

Thanks
Steve

You would have to use adapters that would be about 2 inches wide.
Not worth it.

No they definitely will not. The hubs on an obs are huge. Lightning wheels do not have the center hole for that.

All that needs to be done is drill out the holes for the lug nuts (don't remember exact size) and they will work. There are plenty of trucks out there with these rims, and I got a set waiting to be powdercoated to go on my 95.

Do the center caps pull out of the L wheels? If they do I'd imagine they look like ***. But they would probably work on a 2wd with some clearancing to the cap for the rear?

Yup. I ran into this with my truck and a ram. A buddy wanted to trade wheels and tires so he could pass inspection, mine bolted right to his truck, and stuck out a retarded amount thanks to dodges backspacing. His wheels wouldn't fit over the hubs on my truck and I Imagine if they had with the back spacing they would been right on the springs.

No the center caps do not pull out of the Gen 2 rims. Some have had to "massage" the front hub grease cap some to get the clearance needed though. As far as the bit size to use to drill the holes out, some use 11/16's bit, but most have favored the 45/64 bit. The 11/16 drags a bit on the threads.

No, unless you figure out a way to get that center piece out of the rim.
