Ignition problem?

Wondering if you guys can point me where to start looking. Problem is when the truck has been sitting for a day it will not turn over the first try, so i turn the key for another try and it will start.

Would this be the starter solenoid? How can i check it or should i be looking some where else such as the starter maybe?

The solenoid is on the starter, so if you're looking at it, you're looking at the starter. What happens when it doesn't crank? Do the radio & dash lights stay on? If so, it's either a bad actuator in the column or the ig.sw. Do you hear a click under the hood when the key moves to START? If so, it's probably a bad starter relay or the solenoid on the starter.
