Bubble-back mirrors were used from ~83-96; flag-mount mirrors were used '92-96.

Really, never saw them on anything 92+ (F150\Bronco) before. It made me wonder if the truck was a earlier truck with a front clip swap done or something, especially because of the 2G alt.

You can't turn it in for the warranty if you're crispy. Is it really worth your life &/or your truck?

It's a POS alt, even if it's brand new; low power, and DANGEROUS. Hey, it's your truck, if you want to put your life in danger, thats up to you.

Isn't that the same alternator that was the cause of all the Mustang fires?

You're not using newer tech, if you were, it'd be a 3G under your hood. Something funny next time could be your truck on fire...

I'm saying the alt is a duplicate of the original, and it has a design flaw, which is why they came out with the 3G. Here's hoping your not driving when that $800 goes down the tube...

Check the starter side of the starter relay fro +12v when you are trying to start it (have someone in the cab trying to start it for you). Also check allyour ground to make sure they're solid (good connections).

Known weak point:
The main battery ground cable corrodes out at the intermediate point where it grounds to the frame rail at the wheel well arch.

Solution: Replace the ground cable with one that runs from the battery down to the block ground at the starter flange. Add a second cable (with eye lugs on both ends) that runs up from the starter flange to the chassis ground. No more corrosion.
