Are you asking about the coolant temp sensor that the processor reads or are you asking about the gauge sender?
If it's the latter, it's a pipe thread but I don't recall the size and I'm too lazy to go and measure it.
Screw a nipple into the hole and a tee onto the nipple. Put the OEM sender in one leg of the tee and the aftermarket sender in the other.

A tee with 2 sensors has no flow, and so won't provide an accurate reading on either guage.

Nada chance. Virtually no parts swap between smallblocks & modulars.

It would help to know what truck you're talking about: year, engine, etc.

I don't remember if he started this thread about his g/f's truck, or if this is something new.

Start soaking the back (threaded) end of the bolt with penetrating oil, then go to the JY and buy a used alternator & bracket. Then try to cut or break the alternator to get at the bolt. If you can't, try to cut or break the bolt or bracket. If you still can't, take it to a pro.

BTW
Look for an alternator with only 2 holes between each pair of front ribs.

That doesn't look like a '92 alternator (3G) - it looks like a 2G.

. .

it is a 2G alt. got a book and figured out the wiring new termnals with some help from a buddy electrical tape and shes chargin at 14.19 within 20 seconds of starting.

yup figured it was a 2G bc there was no wire nut with a batt wire. there are 2 female connectors with big wires for the batt

This type produces ~60~100A, and was typically used on early fuel-injected engines from the mid-80s to the early 90s. The 2G is famous for catching fire, usually due to the poor design of the 3-pin connector at the rectifier. The result of these fires was the development of a new Electrical Grease (not to be confused with Dielectric Grease). The greatest value of a 2G is as scrap metal.
oh great. well that area was packed full of that grease so hope it doesnt happen again.

if it does is it hard to up grade to a 3G?
