Wanting to rebuild the front suspension - 90 F-150 4x4
The chassis has about 200k miles on it. The front suspension, with the exception of the shocks, has never been rebuilt. There is some slack in the steering, general clunks and bangs, and a nice loud clunk I can feel in the floorboard when I accelerate from a dead stop. The auto-locking hub caps are "loose" but all the perimeter alan bolts are tight. Driver's side upper ball joint is shot. I want to get this all rebuilt before I buy new tires and have it aligned.
What all parts are usually replace when doing this type of rebuild? Is there anywhere in particular I can get a kit that includes everything instead of piecing it all together? Any advantage in swapping to the Warn manual locking hubs while I do this? I never take it off-roading, but I wouldn't mind hitting a light trail or two.
Other than a hammer, torch, chisel, a spring compressor, and other basic tools for working on a 20+ year old truck, are there any other specific tools I'll need to get this job done?
Thanks in advance.

You don't need a torch or spring compressor, but you will need a GOOD ball joint press. Not the craptasmic HF or zone ones. I don't think anyone offers a kit because there are too many minor variations & options. Just buy good parts - I prefer MotorCraft, Moog, Spicer, Dana, & Energy. Click my black Bronco in my signature & read the captions. There are links in those captions that will take you to other albums showing the ball joints, differential, gears, & radius arm bushings.

No special tools required. However, depending on how in depth you want to get, you made need to get a few things you don't have already. If I were you, I would do it all while it was apart. Ball joints, tie rod ends, all applicable bushings, wheel bearings and seals, axle u-joints, hubs and shocks. Go ahead and throw a fresh set of rotors on while they are off...they are cheap enough. You will without a doubt need a spindle nut socket if you plan on going this far. Also may want to invest in a slide hammer to get the spindle off.

Rotors are cheap, if you are close to needing them just do it now, they suck to change. http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-...t-1980-96.html
