thanks.

172 HEGO sensor circuit indicates system lean (right side)

Ok so i had a lean condtion (plugs were white) and thought i fixed it ( found a vac leak, slightly low fuel press and the EGR supply line was cracked.

Is this code being generated as i do the test or is it in the memory from a past time? The CEL is not and never has been iluminated.

538 Insufficient RPM change during KOER dynamic response test/ Operator error
i guess thats just me then. I punch the gas when it tells me to. i just went out and repeted the test same result.

I'm guessing a have a bad injector or the O2 sensor is bad, if i had another vac leak or fuel press problem shurely the left bank would also read lean.

I still have a slight miss that i have not been able to track down. ill pull the plugs on the right side ( i guess that is the drivers side?) and check the color to see if i realy am running lean.

Return it for refund & spend the money on something useful. You can pull codes more-reliably with a paperclip.

Depends on how it was output. Is it a CM code, or a KOEO? If that scanner didn't specify, that's just one more reason to get rid of it & follow the instructions in that caption.

Then the bulb is burned out. Replace it. It should come on every time the key cycles to RUN.

Then it's not telling you at the right time. Get rid of it & use the paperclip/CEL.

Your truck only has 1 HEGO.

All directions referring to a vehicle are from the operator's point of view. Right is the side with the right turn signal.

When i said the CEL light never came on i ment while i was driving. it comes on at start up and also flashes while the tests are running. the 172 code comes on the KOER test. Thanks for letting me know that i only have One sensor. As for the side (that makes no difference if i only have one sensor) i spent most of my life in the UK and still forget what side the steering wheel is on!
