Hey all, new to the forums. I am interested in buying an older model F150 w/4wd. Im just looking for a weekend truck and something for fun and fixing up.

It may be a daily driver depending on the weather. I usually ride my bike to work unless the weather is bad.

Anyway, from what I've read on other similar threads here, what Im about to ask is going to be met with a lot of criticism!

What kind of mileage on it? Looks pretty good. Those old 6's are gas guzzlers but indestructable. For your described use, I think it would be pretty ideal.

 

you could probably haggle him down on price. like blue said, whats the mileage?

 

I know I'd get it if I had the time and money. It looks like it would be a fun one to fix up.

I forgot to mention the odometer...according to the guy selling it, it says 46k and some change. But apparently its only a 5 digit reading so its most likely 146K.

Oh and thanks Mtnbikes, Im only 2 miles from work so yeah, biking is ideal.

I think you could get it to that...looks good for what you what & a neat project

 

4x4, lifted, 35's, with an inline 6? Slower than snails, sucks gas like there's no tomorrow, but it will run forever and it has enough torque to tow a house - especially with that granny low manual trans.

 

another point is that for the year 2010, vehicles made in 1985 or older dont have to have emissions in the state of georgia. if you dont have to pass emissions you can do whatever you want to with the engine and not have to worry about it. you get the antique car tag for 'em. the vehicle must be 25 years old or older. i know this because i purchased a 86 bronco that currently doesnt run. it came with a carbeurated 302 and carb'd 351 from a 78 f100 and a 70 e van respectively. it sucks cus i have to do something so they'll pass emissions this year then im in the clear.

As for the price...I say you bring it down to at least $1400-$1500. you may ask why? well, because I got my 1992 F150 351 for only $2600 and has about 139k. The owner was asking 4k but i brought it down.
