i need opinions from other ford guys on what they would do with this truck. it does not have a motor in it, still has a working transmission (worked the last time it was moved). i started to haul it off for scrap metal but when i get ready to something tells me not to since the body has no rust or dents, it does need paint though. i don't have all the fuel injection parts, they became M.I.A. a few months ago, sits in my parent's back yard and nobody checks on anything and they have the cab stuffed with some junk, lol. The body has roughly 250,000 miles if i remember correctly, the engine i pulled out of it i was going to rebuild but it was ran with blown head gaskets for awhile. so let opinions begin please.....put in another 302? 351w?.....460 swap?? obviously i'll be going with a carb set up....pics....

lol, that's the thing, knowing it would be crushed if i haul it for scrap metal, i just can't do it. it would be a good project if i can just get the motivation to do it. can't give it away pal, sorry....lol
i would love to have it but i was hoping you might be a little close your only 400 miles away but anyways you keep it an build you something if i was you i would get a 302-351 but do away with all the electronics go carb get you a c6 trans
can the aod will work with a carb setup? i've searched on google and a few other places to see what that group of wires is that plugs in next to the shifter linkage, and i had no success with my search. my haynes manual doesn't even mention it

it's a non-MAF truck. the upper and lower intake plenums are gone, all the injectors are gone, wiring harness, it would be easier to drop a carb engine in it, i have a 2bbl intake but no carb, i just gotta get a to-do list together and start somewhere
yes the aod was put in carburated vehicles when it was first introduced in 1980. it uses tv pressure which is one of the cables that runs from the throttle body to the driver side of the transmission. personally i prefer fuel injection but carburetors do there job alright.
it's good to have dreams, lol
