Headlight problem
Headlight problem
Alright so my front right headlight burnt out, ok no problem, run to napa grab a bulb put it in. As soon as i turn on my light bam, blows out again. I did just install a new alternator, same amperage though... any ideas on what coulda done this? (no burnt fuses in cab fuse box).
oh man i think you guys busted my. i might have touched the glass part of the bulb. the alt. has been putting out about 12-14 volts between idle and driving (normal from what ive read right?)
i would look to see if there is any moisture in headlight housing ,,,that will blow bulb before anything ... if you see beads of sweat or moisture inside then housing is cracked and you need to find it seal it with a clear permatex or purchase a new one ... alt is right on 12.8 to 14 volts
ok so im out to buy some new headlights but im just ganna buy a salvaged one till i can replace the headlights and tail lights. what other vehicles will te headlight assembly work for a 1992 f150? exploder, f250-350??

I have a 2005 F150 4X4 King Ranch edition with 106K miles. My left headlight doesn't work sometimes. Sometimes it comes on, sometimes it doesn't. But more often than either of those, it comes on dim. I had installed some Sylvania SilverStar lights about a year ago and never had a problem. About 6 months ago, I noticed the light wasn't even on as I pulled into a parking garage downtown.
Last night I got in the truck and the lights would not come on, but the high beam indicator was on. And the fog lamps would come on.
The Ford place replaced the connector on the left light at a cost of about $125 and I put OEM lamps in it, but same problem.
The only thing I can think of is a while back I hit a large pot hole on a ranch and something in my front quarter panel vibrates after that. For example, if I bang on the quarter panel, I can hear something loose inside there.
Anyone had any of these issues?
Thanks.
