I have never had a truck before . I found a 1986 ford f150 stepside. He wants 500 dollars for it. He said it has no probloms except for the fact he said it is an auto and the only way it will shift is when you let off the gas. He said the 4x4 works and that it has a 302. He also said that when it runs you can smell gas which he said it might be running rich. I plan on getting cherrybomb mufflers and getting it straight from paint and very little rust. So should I get it or let it go??? Thanks for any help.

 

depends. if your just going to use it to haul stuff then it won't hurt. but if you plan on using it for an everyday driver then you might wana look into something better

 

For a daily driver, I would pass. 500 bucks is cheap, and the letting off the gas to shift scares me.

Any running truck is worth $500. Running and driving...you get the idea.

 

4X4 on top of that.

 

I'd say that depends on who you are and what you know how to do. If $500 truck is going to require a decent amount of work, it is definitely not worth it to anyone who would have to pay to get it done.
