Angry Pinion nut overtightened at factory?

Well, I just talked to a guy at Randy's Ring & Pinion about installing a posi in my '95 F150, and my noisy pinion bearings (snce 92k, now at 100k), and he told me that they see a lot of '92 and later ones with noisy bearings, and they believe that the pinion nut was overtightened at the factory. Anybody else seen this?

I changed the gear oil when I replaced the axle (wheel) bearings, at 94k. I've had cars go over 200k without having to replace anything other than axle bearings.
