What the /?#$%@

Guys,
I go out today to unload the truck from a hunting trip. Decided to check oil and tranny fluid. 95 4x4 351 ext. cab.... Anyway, I pulled the tranny dip stick and the whole thing, well half of the filler tube came up with the dipstick. What???? How did this thing get broke? It's like it just snapped in two, almost clean. It's next to the cat conv., lot's of heat I know but this is stupid. Anyway, I need a part # and some instructions on replacing it. This pisses me off. Is there just a screw and plate holding it in the housing or what?

if i remember correctly the dipstick tube should bolt to the block or exhaust manifold and just has a rubber o-ring at the end that enters the tranny. the bolt is what holds it still. i know thats how the aod and 4r70w are but not 100% sure on the E40D

The tube(s) are a two piece unit.

Fluid Level Indicator (AKA Dip Stick)
Oil Filler Tube (The part that came out)
87034-S94 Filler Tube O-Ring (holds the two tubes together)
Lube Oil Inlet Short Tube (The lower tube that goes into the transmission)

i thought the lower tube was part of the tranny. when i got my reman it was already in it. oh well. i think you can still just get the filler tube. i'm not having any luck trying to find the part online for any part #.

Ok guys, here's the scoop, lower radiator hose busted. Got it done, retarded oil cooler setup is stupid, how much can hot antifreeze cool the oil down anyway??? Can't find a replacement for the tranny dipstick tube. Even looking for aftermarket with chrome and such, no luck. If your better at finding parts than me, please send a link!

guys, got it fixed. It was a bear to get to the bolt holding in it. It was a discontinued item from ford, and most junkyards just told me no, they didn't have one. probably not expensive enough for them!! punks anyway, car salesman friend of mine at HM Freeman motors in Gadsden, AL got a dealer to trace a new one down somehow. It's in and I'm riding, dirty??? I don't know what that song means but the truck is filthy! thanks gusy for the help.
