post for jimbello
I read in a recent post that you had a problem with you r temp. gauge and I was wondering what the fix was. Right now the one in my 95 is inop. When I tested it, it shows open (drives the needle full cold.) Thanks for any help you can provide.

In my case yes the guage.
I spnt (NO LIE) 3 weeks after work every night under that hood tracing wires checking grounds, I even took the dash apart and I got the voltage readings I was supposed to have.
I did that grounding out the sending unit too.
If you take the wire off the sending unit and touch it to the frame the guage should slam hard HOT. Mine wouldn't even do that.
I finally bit the bullet and bought the assembly and it's been fine ever since.
AND, just to be sure, I put the old guage back in to see if it was just a bad connection. Old guage still slammed below cold....new guage back in and normal so it has to be the guage. Only problem is the cost. for me $100 bucks now I've heard that assembly is going for around $130.......
It is an easy fix though only took me about an hour and a half and that was with doing some cleaning while i was working on it...
Good Luck, let me know how ya made out.
