Finding Springs and Front Stabilizer Bar
My local Ford dealer's parts shop could not find the front stabilizer bar or heavy duty front springs for my '91 F-150. Seems this shouldn't be hard to find, given that these are part of the handling package that came with Ford trucks in '91. Ideas?
Also, what can I do to my truck to keep it from sagging under the weight of my horse trailer? My mud flaps are only a couple inches off the pavement unloaded, and I don't want to drag them.
Thanks,
Mike

Try these guys. They supply a lot of the OEM suspension stuff to various makers; I assume they'll ship.

Thanks for the replies... I will check the place in Oklahoma.
Don't think I have overloads... Wouldn't know if I did... And the front stab bar... Well, unless it was stock I don't have it. Was it part of original equipment on all F-150s back then?
The Chilton's manual I have gives part numbers, but they're not Ford part numbers. The books says something about them being references that can be used with interchange manuals and aftermarket supplier catalogs to locate particular manufacturer's discrete part number. Now, I have no idea of where to find an interchange manual... Do you all?? That would be a great way to locate lots of parts--for less than what Ford wants for them!
Thanks again,
Mike

I am not absolutely sure it was on v-8 equipped F-150's...I have the 91 brochure at home, and I will check it....
I am pretty sure they would have it...I haven't seen a F-150 that doesnt have one.

Okay, according to the brochure...It was part of the "handling Package" which included, front/rear stabilizer bars,heavy-duty shocks, heavyduty front springs.
I guess I figured all of the V-8's had the bar up front...Mine is kinda tucked away.
you will DEFFINANTLY need this when pulling a trailer...
funny, The factory 351 in 1991 had 200hp and 300 ft/lbs and a 8.8 compression ratio. But in 1996 it has 210hp and 330 ft/lbs...
The 1996's also had it as part of the handling package, and included quad front shocks equipped on 4x4 models.

Hello, I have a 96 F150 with the 302, auto, 4x4, and I don't have the stabilizer bar either. I think it only came with the towing package or soemthing. Mine is an xl package also, maybe that has somethine to do with it.
I'm looking at a set of Hellwig stabilizers... They make an application for both front and rear anti-sway bars. Price looks much more reasonable than Ford's price.
Yeah or nay on Hellwig's products??
