Actually, the Superchip was around for years before Hypertech ever made a Ford chip. Superchips *invented* the performance chip concept back in 1983. However, you are like a lot of people who have not heard of Superchips before, probably because it's only available at authorized dealers. Superchips spends it's money on R&D, not advertising, and that's the biggest difference between them and everyone else. Superchips is an engineering-driven company, and most other chipmakers are marketing driven. Also, Superchips does work for the major automnakers directly, so that is where a lot of their revenues come from, as opposed to marketing directly to individuals. Some people call Superchips "the little giant", due to just what you said, not hearing about them, and then when you do hear about them, like here on F150online, you see almost everyone using the Superchip. It's funny how things work sometimes!
