I read somewhere that I would need to take my truck in to get the speedometer reset after a gear change. I thought it worked off the speed sensor in the rear axle, am I wrong? is there a sensor on the tranny?

If the speedometer is the only thing that is going to be off, I may let that go. I just want to keep the computer happy.

I think I am going to go to 3.55 gears (by doing a swap with a junkyard axle).

OK I read it, and from what I am seeing, I only need to change the speedo setting if I change to a different size tire, but not if I change axle ratio. right??
