Quality.
Quality.
Anyone else not completely satsified with the interior qaulity of materials used?
It doesn't rattle or sqeak or anything, ive just never liked how it has a hard as a rock plastic dashboard and if you knock on it it sounds completely hollow.
At least its not cracking like the old chevrolets did.
Im not planning on getting rid of this thing anytime soon, not for a few years at least.
Ya know this truck has been great to me, but im afraid with the whole spark plug issue on the 5.4/6.8 engines (even though they've changed the design), im not sastisfied with ford products. My dad had an old escort that had major problems with the whole TFI module. It didnt fix it more than a week every time he replaced it. Im thinking a nice little Colorado is going to suit me quite nicely in the future.

That would be either the 1953-1956 F100 or the late 1940s Dodge Power Wagon depending on your personal preferences in such things. Both were specifically and very nearly perfectly designed to perform a defined task without compromises and free of extraneous crap. Near-perfect expressions of Issigonis's motto "Everything you need, nothing you don't" as applied to a truck.
Were you using a Ford TFI module or aftermarket? Just wondering, alot of the a/m ones are crap, either way there was probably some other issue that you never found that was causing it to go bad, not really Fords fault. A had a 92 F-150 that was lifted that i beat the crap out of, bought it used owned it for 100k miles and only had to replace the starter and alternator. Dad has a 95 with 250K on it, we have a total of $1,000 in repairs to the truck (not counting oil changes and brakes) It doesnt leak or burn oil. And i have a lifted 1977 that i mud with that has never let me down.
I was never a fan of the Chevy dashboards, i always thought they were too flat and too far forward. I've only dealt with a few chevy's in my life but none of them could compare to any ford i have owned.

Oh by the way, if you get a Colorado never take it offroad, a few of the computers are under the carpet, if the floor gets too wet its big money. Seen this happen already.

Well i guess im being to hard on em, every other vehicle my year is the same now that i think about it.
And if memory serves, yes they were after market tfi modules. and it was a few years back before i knew as much about vehicles as i do now. Im only 19 now.
And ive decided NO on a future colorado, they are over priced for what you get. They dont have much options inside or out. They can only tow 4000 lbs max and can only get a 5 cylinder as the largest motor. Im not going to get a dakota but for comparisons, they can tow over 7000 lbs and get the 4.7l v-8 for just a little bit more, well worth the money. Way to much pure profit on those colorado's.
I guess i was just awnry that day i made this thread. Also its not like it should be in perfect condition after at least 12 going on 13 years on the road.
