Shock preference?

Okay guys, this one's for me. I replaced the shocks in my truck 6 or 7 years ago. I think I put in some Gabriels, but I can't swear to it. Either way, they were junk pretty much from day one. I'm sick of them now, and want to put another set of shocks on it, and I'm looking for suggestions.

This truck is mostly driven on the street, and is often weighed down with tools. I'm not interested in buying the most expensive shocks out there, I just want a good set that will hold up, for a fair price.

I'm an engine builder, not a suspension guru. Any feedback is welcome.

Thanks.

I like my Bilsteins. They really control the extra mass of the Twin I-Beams better than any other shocks I've tried and they're not grossly pricey. I've had them on both Rangers and F150s and don't look to ever run anything else.

Got them from www.shox.com. Good prices, great service. They carry other brands as well and will put you into something suitable to your needs.

Thanks for responding, I value your opinion. In fact, I just ordered 4 new Bilsteins.

Take care,
