Sounds like the U-joints are in need of replacement. Will cost you about 15 - 20 bucks for the U-joint and its not that hard to install.

Sounds like u-joints, but you really need to be sure. With the e-brake on, grab the driveshaft as close to the rear end as you can, and check for play. Pay attention as to whether or not the pinion has any play, or if it's all in the driveshaft.

Could be the clutch on its way out too, I've had many stick cars and trucks shake and jerk due to wasted clutch and pilot bearings/bushings. But definatly check the u joints first as they are cheap and can be replaced with a bench vice and a couple of sockets. I just finished a 96 that the joints were so wasted on that there were no needle bearings left and the cross was worn about halfway through.

What tranny? OD? Granny first gear? Can you read the door jam sticker trans code?

No, the T18 is the super tough cast iron monster with a granny gear. I believe you have the TOD which I have yet to personally see as they were known to be a POS and they didn't survive. I would be super grateful if you could snap a pic of the trans and shifter for my ford tranny records.
