Has anyone done a mass air conversion on a 94' 5.8L with EOD4 tranny?

im currently doing one on my 92 the only thing that makes our's different, is the e4od transmission. any other trans, and you can use a computer out of a mustang, but with ours, since its an electronically controlled transmission, you have to have a computer out of a 95-96 f150/bronco, i thought a 94 had a mass air setup already?

There's something about the 94' 5.8L with EOD4 tranny that complicates the conversion, and I'll be darned if I can figure out what it is or how to get around it. I've checked with Ford Performance and a few other retail sources and no one has a conversion out for this configuration. I'm hoping someone out there has found a way to convert this thing over to MAF.

If you find the processor and are able to make this combination work correctly please keep me in mind for an update. I assume you also have the 94' 5.8L?

no, i got a 92 with a 5.0, which has extensive modification now, but its going to be the same deal, you're gonna need a processor exactly liek im looking for, from a 95-96 with the e4od,

Would the processor from a 95-96 have to be programmed? or are the timing and fuel tables the same or better?

they're about the same as what your factory stuff is, except for the mass air stuff, thats why it sucks to have the e4od when you're doing this conversion, if you have a different trans, you can use the mustang processor, and you can get more punch out of it, when i do mine, im going to get the processor, and end up doing an sct chip/tuner, so ill get a little more out of it

I was just at FORD Nationals at Carlisle, PA. I went to the FORD Racing trailer and asked about using one of the 351 crate motors in my 92. HE asked if it had mass air. I said no, then he asked what tranny i had in it, I said the E4OD. Then he said the computer couldnt handled the motor without mass air. Basiclly the onyl way to get mass air on a 92-96 F150 the the 5.8/E4OD set up is to get a stand alone setup for the motor. But he did tell me call Jeff at the FORD Racing tech line and he can guide us in what to get. This realy sucks

i just finished a mass air convertion on my 93 bronco 5.8l . you can call some junk yards in california and ask for computer out of a 1995 bronco . here is the code for the computer, ( F5TF-12A650-BYA)
BIO0 5.8 Bronco, F-x50 E-x50 MAF / E4OD .
you can only get this in from a california model 1995 and it is still an OBD-1 computer so your stock harness will plug right in. all you need to do run a few more wires in to the factory harness for your maf ,oxgen, sensors and a few for your injector so they will fire sepretly . you can find all the pin locations for the computer at www.fordfuelinjection.com
