Question Fast Idle

Setup of my problem: i was having stalling problems and like once before, removed the IAC and the throttle body and cleaned. Worked before. Also, i have a problem with piston blow-by to the point that the air cleaner box was soaking wet with oil. I attached a rubber hose to the outlet near the oil filler cap and let the hose fall into a catch can.

After doing all of this, i have the high idle problem. I have read several threads about high idle and its relationship to vacuum leaks. Looking for vacuum leaks, I sprayed carb cleaner over all joints with no affect on idle. Is the high idle because i have the oil breather hose going to an "open" can and not to the air cleaner box?

sbcict,

I don't know if carb cleaner will work. I've used brake cleaner.

The vacuum leaks I found were in the WHITE vacuum line to the defrost control door motor (near the radio antenna) and the gasket between the upper and lower intake manifolds. I found multiple breaks in the WHITE line.

Have fun. I rebuilt a 91 Bronco because of that. It seemed to be a good excuse to do it. Wife had no clue what I was doing.
