Pre-1997 Models

93 F150 4x4 only gets 14MPG! HELP!

Dayum...15-17 AVERAGE?!? I'd love that. Although my truck has shown signs of being able to make well over 19mpg with ease, and perhaps 20mpg if driven right and after a good run of tune-up and maintenance items.
The E4OD, the AOD and the AOD-E are three very different trannies. They operate differently and they fail differently. It is more than slightly important to know which you have if you have tranny related questions or problems. You gain nothing by muddying the waters by calling something that which it is not.

OK. I have E4OD which falls into the generalclass of AOD to me. Hell I call a 700R4 or a C4 with Gear Vendors Overdrive an AOD. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks I guess.
