95 5.0 engine swap
I need some help. I am trying to swap a 88 stang 5.0 ,into my 95 f150. The flex plate and auto overdrive flywheel bolt up perfectly only difference in the cranks I found that their is a 1/4 difference in where the pilot bearing goes. I machined it out and torque converter mates up fine. The problem is the bell housing and engine will not bolt up. If I start to tighten the bolts it will lock up the motor. Any help would be great. There was somethign on Trucks! on spike, IIRC, about this. Stacy(sp?) said that if the TC isn't sitting all the way deep in the trans, then when you bolt everythign up, it will have this exact problem. I would check the TC, and make sure it's all the way in.
I am reusing the stock truck torque converter. The only glimmer of hope I have had is that the converter may have popped out its groves. I never checked it because I unbolted it, and let it in place. Hopefully I can get her back together. Any help is great. Rich
