almost over heating:

This started tonight, the needle stays in the normal range. The heat level rises during acceleration. It won't go higher at constant idle.

It goes to the A in "Normal" on the gauge.

I noticed it was low on coolant...topped her off and the level isn't going down.

My question is this. If the car is low on coolant. It is running hotter. I add coolant on the way home. Is it possible that since it got to that heat level, it wouldn't go down untill it had a chance to completly go down to normal operating temp?

Turning the heater on doesn't affect it either.

Maybe it's a shot sensor..

Any help is great, thanks.

Pete

No. Adding fluid would change the temp right away. If it didn't change, i'd replace the sender.

Take care,

when you filled it back up, did you put in purely coolant, or coolant/water mix?
