So let me get this straight. Is Ford67 a thread jacker or a troll............or maybe a Trolljacker.

It is truly amazing that he can't see that his arguements are presented exactly like he is saying the religiousnonthinkingright/leftwing nuts are doing.

I suppose that after enough insults we will all see things his way and bow down to his superior way of thinking.

Back on topic, men and women are not equal. I have always wondered why females don't have to register with selective service.

That would be a instance where equal rights are not convenient and
not desirable and will never make there list of things to fight for. ( in court)

You're correct that would not be taken to court by women. However I think men could make a very good case to require women to register. If I recall correctly, women currently don't serve in direct combat roles, but they can serve in all other roles in the military. Men can serve in all roles in the military. So by not requiring women to register for the selective service they are decreasing the number of people in the draft pool. That lower number of people in the pool means each person in the pool has a higher probability of being drafted. Since women can serve in most (if not all) of the careers in the military why should they be given a pass on being drafted. Granted most of the draftees would be going to a direct combat jobs. Clerks, mechanics, cooks, cops, ammo types, etc all are needed for the military to work. A man could argue that they are being discriminated against by having an increased chance of being drafted because women are not required to register for the selective service. I think it would be tough case to make, but equality is equality.

Perhaps if women were drafted but couldn't be given certian jobs, that would make the discrimination even worse. The men would be the only ones who could be used as "cannon fodder" so to speak, while the women would recieve the "safer" jobs.

This whole equality thing has always been silly at best, but will continue forever. Women just aren't the same as men, he** for that matter men aren't the same as men!

That's the way it is now, unless they changed the policy, only the men can be used for "cannon fodder". If they changed the policy, that only reinforces the fact that women should be required to register. As was drastically brought to light in the most recent war and Vietnam if you are in a war zone you are in harms way and can be injured or killed.

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure the men and woman responsible for sending you to 'war' consider each and every one of you cannon fodder, man or woman. It's just part of 'war', right ? Just like the lives of hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of middle easterners that were killed in the most recent, never ending occupation of their land. It's all part of 'war'.

While on the subject, I agree with the guy who said *most* woman only want to be equals when it benefits them. There are some entitled woman out there, ask them about being equals when the bill shows up.

Your knowledge of our military and the middle east matches your knowledge of religion, politics and US History.

Impressive.

I have 2 friends in Afghanistan right now. I can tell you we haven't killed "millions" in Iraq or Afghanistan. Even if you combine the deaths.

Insanity.

The "never ending occupation of their land" has been going on long before Russia went into Afghanistan.
For the past 2,500+ years, they have been at war with each others in the ME.

That would get the body count to those numbers.... Had nothing to do with the US or Russia.

He clearly said the 'most recent' occupation has killed hundrends of thousands, possibly millions.

ford67 should just say what he means: He thinks our armed forces are baby killers.
