Man, women or anything else, you have a right to self defense. It didn't look like she was actively attacking him. Not saying that she didn't, but once it's over, it's over. Don't go back for your vengeance...

Dude lost his job and most likely was charged.

This sounds like the "righty/religious" mentality at work to me.

"Your religion treats woman like second class citizens. It is immoral, irrational and just plain silly"
"Yeahhhhh wellllllllll uhhhhhhhhh TALIBAN terrorists!!! They are bad! 9/11 !! Support out troops!"

I can't help but think this was your horribly backwards way of trying to justify your bible's treatment of woman..

So guys, from here on out we are going to use a murderous terrorist organization known as the taliban to justify the horribly backwards, irrational teachings of the many versions of american christian bibles. Mmm k ?

Aint no logic like christian logic. It conveniently goes in circles.

I think women are different then men. Not inferior different. I think they should be treat different because they are. I dont think there 2nd class infact in some ways they are better then men.
The Taliban do think women are cows for reproduction "inferior" to men. I dont agree with that and if your bible teaches that women should be subservient to men I dont agree with it just as much.

OK, since this thread has suddenly become so slanted towards "religion", I've moved it.

As in any debate, it's fine to disagree about concepts, pointing out errors in facts or logic. But it's not appropriate or even honest to call the integrity or motivation of the other side into question. Let's at least TRY to keep our discourse on a high level, OK?

Getting back to the subject, I feel both parties behaved in an uncivilized manner. It should never have happened and would not have if they had had more control over their emotions. Neither one of them acted like adults.

So you disagree with your bible, or you are not christian?
One or the other.
It's black and white really.

But yes, I definitely agree with you on one thing, woman are different than men, thankfully.

Sorry to nag, but could you fill me on what a middle eastern terrorist group has to do with this discussion..?
If I didn't know any better I;d say you're using a "strawman" right now, one of the many logical fallacies used frequently on internet message boards.
It's where you ignore the discussion and pretty much make up your own discussion to prove some ridiculously inane point you want to make.

So your point is ... the taliban are bad people? Am I following correctly ?
If so, yes, I agree. Terrorists are bad people.

You were obviously trying to connect some sort of line between terrorists (taliban) and the muslim faith, which is obviously ridiculous.
I'm sorry for being factual about the teachings of the christian faith in this country, I know it's a shame, but it is what it is.

Although again, I don't know why you ever brought up a terrorist organization in the first place when we were discussing gender equality in this country.
I am a man of the bible, woman are second class citizens, clearly.
If you choose to go against the word of god, that is on you.

Sorry jack and janet, didn't mean for you to have to move the thread.
I thought this was already in the religious/political section.

I was in religion/politics posting mode.
It's a switch I turn before entering such a section.
My apologies.

In a marriage, the man is supposed to be the head of the household. As it says in the Bible. God's not like us. He's smart. He knows it's not good for 2 people to be fighting over the same territory.

In churches, women are not to be in positions of power, except in the instruction of other women and children. God spells this out in the Bible. One of his reasons are they are more emotional than men and are more likely to be led astray, in general.

"Subjection" does not mean, "hey wifey, let me beat you one more time".

Like it or not ford, you are in subjection every day of your life. At work, on the highway driving your car, and even under the authority of the mods here.

I never claimed to be a christian. The middle eastern group just happens to share some biblical theology..

Actually, now that this is a full on religious conversation and all I need to bail. I get this kind of crap to much and I apologise for interjecting an observation I shouldn't have. I frequent this site because for the most part I can do it without religious/political stuff. its my fault I stepped into it though. I'm done here.
