Do you believe in gender equality?
BTW: Woman want to be equal to man and are! Right up to the point when it's not convenient and self-serving. At that point a change happens, resembling a Chameleon and they change from having equal rights (which should include equal responsibilities ), to being depended on Man, such as what takes place in divorce courts all over the western world. Woman are not satisfied with equality. They aim to dominate.
Now, that I'm thinking with the big head, it's easy to see...
Now, that I'm thinking with the big head, it's easy to see...
Exactly-many women want to be treated equally when it comes to the positive things that men go through but when it comes to the negative things they don't want to be treated equally. The problem is there shouldn't be a double standard. If you want to be treated equally you should be willing to accept the good WITH the bad associated with that. Otherwise, just go in the kitchen and make me a sammich.

And I'm a billy goat.
And I'm a watermelon.
In a marriage, the man is supposed to be the head of the household. As it says in the Bible. God's not like us. He's smart. He knows it's not good for 2 people to be fighting over the same territory.
In churches, women are not to be in positions of power, except in the instruction of other women and children. God spells this out in the Bible. One of his reasons are they are more emotional than men and are more likely to be led astray, in general.
"Subjection" does not mean, "hey wifey, let me beat you one more time".
Like it or not ford, you are in subjection every day of your life. At work, on the highway driving your car, and even under the authority of the mods here.

Rational discussion officially over.
Basing your life off any one of the numerous bibles is ridiculous, obviously.
Get out of the stone age. "head of the household" is a ridiculous idea.
This is half the problem with this country/politics, you have far too many members of the older generations allowing their religious beliefs get in the way of REAL issues. god is an idea, a belief. Citing a religious belief for how society or households should run is 100% fundamentally wrong and this is why there's no getting through to people like this.
So this god entity, he (I'm going to assume it is a he based on it's claim that men are the head of household..) is the only one smart enough to realize that 2 people fighting over the "same territory" is a bad thing? So why didn't he pass this knowledge along to his followers? Why so many religious wars over territory and magic rocks ?
This is crazy talk.
God didn't write any bibles. Get it through your head. Every single bible that has ever existed is the work of man!
If you want to believe in the idea of a god, that's fine, I understand that there is no rationality or logic applied to religion but damn.. some of these statements are beyond mind blowing.
Woman are more emotional than men? What a broad generalization you have made there...
Yeah, men have their heads screwed on so tight that they wage wars all over the world, over things like religion.
We wouldn't dare want woman and their emotions getting in the way of all the death, destruction and profit, right?
Men have everything handled.
I'm also curious why the catholic church has that silly little law where they exile/banish members from their church for reporting child molestation to the police ? Is this also the word of god? Or is this something that mankind conveniently slipped into the mix.. again ?
I've read a lot of silly posts from religious people in the past yet they never cease to amaze me with the complete disconnect from what most others would consider reality.
Your post is, as usual, proof of what a cancer religion is on mankind in the larger picture.
Organized religion is insane.

Here's a link that is safe, it was on one of their local news channels.
Link - "It was like Mortal Kombat, Finish Him!"
Of course Shiddia (sp?) says it's not her fault and she did nothing wrong despite the camera catching her cussing, spitting and hitting the driver first. Why am I not surprised at this...

That edit is just a little biased towards her
Actually, now that this is a full on religious conversation and all I need to bail. I get this kind of crap to much and I apologise for interjecting an observation I shouldn't have. I frequent this site because for the most part I can do it without religious/political stuff. its my fault I stepped into it though. I'm done here.
I agree.
If it didn't effect our daily lives, a lot less people would care about your beliefs, however silly they might be.
That's what so many people don't seem to understand.
Obviously there is no way around it though. Most religious people allow their beliefs to run their lives, and figure it shouldn't be any problem when they allow their religious beliefs to overlap into actual REAL WORLD issues.
It's such a "off limits" topic, yet it influences people's decisions in politics that effect other people's lives. Tell me that isn't crazy or scary.
We cannot talk about it rationally, without circular 'religious logic' (quite the oxymoron), yet we are supposed to be okay with people using it as a tool that effects our lives ?
SAVE ME.
Surely you understand many of the greatest people that this world has ever known have called religion their inspiration. Through that inspiration, great works that benefit mankind, inlcuding you, were created.
Does cancer provide charity for untold millions around the world? Nope.
Seems to me that not only do you gladly accept what religous persons have given to advance mankind, you take it for granted.
Basically, you are an ungrateful wretch. You spit in the face of religion, but live in a free country founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Your freedoms were largely bought and paid for with the blood, sweat and tears of religious persons.
So who really the hypocrite?

You call organized religion a cancer and question the sanity of anyone who is faithful.

Again, why does the catholic church have a 'law', where anyone who communicates abuses to police is banished from the church for life..?
Good people don't need such a system in place.
The fact that a lot of 'great' people, to some level, had "faith" in a higher power, is irrelevant. I say the bad parts of religion surely outweigh the good, religion has done far more bad for this planet than good.
If you really need a book, written by man, said to be the word of god, a huge fancy building, and a collection basket, along with a distorted view of political issues to feel like you are being a good boy for not killing anyone, that is a problem.
So again, donating some money to charity, cancels out all the horribly evil things religion is responsible for..? apparently..
Covering up child abuse, rape, sodomy, engaging in religious war, condemning other's beliefs, oppressing mankind, these are horrible things that every church engages in daily. But hey, they donated to some childrens hospital - redeemed !
Again, what does someone's personal beliefs have to do with anything?
So a religion guy builds something cool that benefits mankind, and we are supposed to thank.. his religion ? What... ?
You are not being rational, you're not even trying.
You have your religious hat on, and everything and anything that can be linked to someone who may have belief in a higher power, only accomplished anything because of this belief, That is insane.
While you're busy claiming religion is to be thanked for everything the eye can see.. you are forgetting that religion was, and still is a great oppressor (as well as divider) of mankind.
Back when the earth was still flat, great minds were JAILED, by the order of the church, for ideas that did not align with the teachings of their man-made bibles.
Yet again, through your horribly biased religions logic, we owe everything to religion ? The same system of nutcases that would have men jailed for practicing scientific theory? IF religion had it's way, the creators of every space mission would be burned at the stake.
Stem cells, tissue cultures, BLASPHEMY! that's playing god! let em die !!
It goes on and on and on.
So here we go, your closing argument is that I'm ungrateful and I owe everything to religion, because some guys who might have believed in some sort of a higher power (which I NEVER said I was against - a possible higher power) did some things that were good for mankind?
Regardless of what your pastor, or bishop, whatever you call him, told you, this country was never a "christian" nation. There are famous quotes from some of the most influential men in the creation of this nation that blow your ideas out of the water, and you know this.
My freedoms were bought and paid for by religious people?
Again, I don't owe my life to organized religion, I don't owe organized religion a damn thing.
Take your religious beliefs and go talk politics with them.

Wow! Ford67 is one of the best atheist trolls I've ever seen!
The problem that always has and always will exist between "religious" folk and atheists, agnostics, etc, is that one side can't logically explain itself - fully. There is an issue of faith with religion, and that's obviously lost on folks like ford67. It can't be explained to a person who MUST be able to rationalize every...single...thing.
The very definition of faith illustrates just how devoid of human logic the subject really is. We'll go from the Bible's definition - "The substance of things hoped for...the evidence of things not seen". The very idea of such a thing defies natural, human logic and unless one has experienced faith for themselves, it's impossible to fully grasp. The comment about religion (matters of faith) being circular thinking is very true to a non-believer. They must be able to grasp a beginning and an ending regarding matters of logic. With a believer, every point that he/she can make always points back to faith. Hence, the circularity of the argument.
So as I see it, there is the major disconnect. Religion of any sort is built upon the faith of its believers. Since atheists (non-believers) can't grasp that concept, they can't grasp all of the other concepts and ideas that make up religion.
Having said all of that, I'm not pro-religion by any means. In fact, I detest 99.9% of all the forms of major "religions" that I have ever known. In this, I agree with ford67 that religion, as an organization, is a man-made concept based mostly upon man-made rules and ideas that are based, most of the time very loosely, upon traditions and sometimes down-right odd "translations" of the Bible, etc. Furthermore, I believe religion is designed to keep the followers in a place of constant reliance upon the religion and its leadership. Basically, it makes robots out of many of its followers.
At the same time, I make no apologies whatsoever about believing the Bible. Strange, huh?
Again, it's a matter of faith for me, and that faith is based upon things I've personally learned and experienced. To an infidel, there's no logical way of explaining that, either.

Yeah, but it was the only one I could post here. You mods would have not been happy with any of the other ones that only show what happened.
Personaly I think it's wrong to fight at all, especialy a man hitting a woman.
He should of stoped at a bus stop and tell her to get out, because she was putting other people lives at risk by removing the drivers concetration!

I know one thing....i be damned if i let anybody hit me without responding to it. Only thing about a woman hitting me is that the fuse is a bit longer. But in the end, i will defend myself. Woman or not.
According to government statistics, there are more man being attacked by woman then the other way around. I read it a few weeks ago and a Gov. website. If i had it right now, i'd post it.

Rabid atheists are just as bad as rabid believers. Neither can have a reasonable discussion about religion. Both sides make large sweeping generalizations that can be very inaccurate. Neither is all good, but then again neither is all bad.
It's a shame that people like you figure anyone who mocks organized religion is an "atheist".
You aren't much of a thinker, are you ?
Just like being dumb enough to group yourselves into one of 2 political parties, people like you don't understand much about having an open mind. Don't think too deeply about it, just crack another cold one and tell yourself I'm a leftist, atheist hippy.
Unreal, either you're part of the religious herd, or you're an athiest, no gray area, just black and white with you godbots.
I can't possibly get through to you and make you understand what I'm saying, I'm an "atheist" because I think organized religion is a cancer/joke. Fair enough.
Absolutely mind blowing all you people that think you have it all figured out.
There's no room for the unknown when you have a book, written by man kind, used as a TOOL for thousands of years, to give you all the answers.
Should I hold my breathe waiting for someone to address the law in the catholic church which banishes priests/guysinthefancyclothing for reporting crimes against humanity (rape, molestation, etc) to the police ? Why does your "pope" support this? Why do they cover up thousands of abuse cases every year by relocating these sick old men to another country/church to do it again?
Is religion really this important to some of you people? That you can turn your back on these children in the name of your "god"?
Is the fear of death really THAT GREAT, that you can continue to let this sort of stuff happen all over the world? All in the name of your "god"? All for fear of being banished from the herd of sheep? Disgusting.
Insane doesn't even begin to describe the **** that religious people let fly.. all the while worrying about things like abortion.
Is religion some giant "troll"? seriously... it can't be real

You ever hear the expression, "If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck..."?
You have to admit that if we only go by what you've written, a person could make a good argument that you are an atheist.
Additionally, you dubbed me as "dumb" and "not much of a thinker" because you've deduced, falsely, that I support one of two political groups. Maybe your instant prejudice of me after stating I believe in the Bible has overruled your memory because I have stated more than once that I don't jive with either "party".
But us Bible believers MUST all be good little republicans, right? And you accused ME of generalizing and being closed-minded?
And another thing: You obviously didn't read my entire post. Or maybe you just took out the bits and pieces that suited your agenda (the latter sounds eerily like many "religious" folk
). At any rate, you must've missed the part where I said I detest organized religion. Since that's the case, does that mean you'll think of me as a true thinker...like you....pleeeeeease??
Oh well. It's nice to see that Christians aren't the only people who can be hypocrites.
By the way, you didn't address my comment about you being a troll.
As adamantly as you refuted your being an atheist, and considering I'm a narrow-minded, non-thinking, hypocritical Christian, is it safe to assume your avoidance of the troll topic means that your are one?
