Why do you need to buy new bumpers?

Because I'm blacking out my truck and was planning on getting Black Ford fender flares or red Bushwackers and either look bad with the chrome bumper I have now....would rather just do a trade but willing to buy it to get it done.

Oh ok the reason I was asking is, I had chrome bumpers too, I got mine painted. I think you might be cheaper off paying around $300 to get them painted vs buying used ones and then have to get them painted if they are in rough shape.

How hard is it to paint the chrome as far as sanding and the actual painting?

I took it to a shop. The proper way of doing it, Before you start prepping it, it must be sandblasted first down to bare metal. If you dont get it sandblasted, the paint wont last.

just get them powder coated...cheaper to do, AND last longer than any paint job. getting mine done for $200 front/back. takes 3 days for the process and drying time.

Would I have to still sand blast them or no?

I would think you would, cause I know if you dont, it usually wont last that long. Better to be safe than sorry.
