FS: 05 F150 Custom OEM HID Retrofitted Headlights and Ballasts - OEM Look and Operati

All,

I have an extremely rare set of F150 headlights that were retrofitted with OEM HID equipment. The LS430 projector is one of the best OEM projectors on the market as it lets light out of the bottom of the lense and then reflects it to the far left and right to give a beam patter that can easily light up an entire 4 lane highway. I have provided the details below. Building this set of headlights now would not only take you months but cost you at least $1,100. I am offering the completed headlights that can be installed by you within a week for less. I also have a working set of the most popular OEM HID ballasts, denso. On top of that I am also offering a modified set of ballasts that can significantly increase light output of your HIDs.

Cost: See below
Condition: Like new, zero marks, scratches, blemishes

Please do not hesitate to contact me for any additional questions, video, or picture requests.

Thanks,
Duke

General Info:
- LS430 projectors that were modified by a member called LittoDevil on the hidplanet.com/forums website (a well known HID retrofitter on a well known HID retrofit forum)
- Two denso slim ballasts in good functioning order
- Two modified output ballasts that can be attached to the dial set I will provide too. You adjust the dial and it will increase the brightness of the headlights. They were modified by another retrofitter on hidplanet.com/forums and have large heat sinks that dissipate any heat.

Modification:- Projectors were single xenon (low beam only) but were modified to bi-xenon (high and low beam)
- Projectors received a shield modification to make the cutoff sharper
- Projectors received a lense modification to make the cutoff more colorful (has a thick blue line)
- Two ballasts are modified to have adjustable outputs

Condition:
- The headlights are in great shape and don't have any problems.
- All four ballasts work very well. You only need two though. But see below on the pricing.

Installation:
- On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being easy and 10 being hard, I'd give this a 4. For reference I'd call changing windshield wipers a 1.
- This installation took me approximately 4 hours to do, but at the time I was figuring it all out from scratch.
- Depending on which ballasts you use, you may need to cut a circular hole behind the headlight in the solid frame area. You can then use black spray paint to cover the cut. I can include the drill bit that can do this easily at no cost. It's what I used.

Pricing:
- Projectors retrofitted into F150 headlights: $950 shipped (current HID forum and ebay prices would cost you $1,100 to do this now)
- Current eBay or forum prices as reference:
  • $375 for projectors
  • $50 for shield modification
  • $75 for lense modification
  • $300 for bi-xeon modification
  • $300 for retrofit

Ballasts:
- $160 shipped for pair of denso ballasts
- $240 shipped for pair of adjustable ballasts

maybe its just your camera settings but that cut off line does not look very crisp... and i agree with ak_cowboy, you are looking at 1100 at the cheapest for projectors, heads, and ballast from you when you can get heads and full retrofit kit for around 450~

I understand this retrofit is for a much smaller audience of buyers. It's not an apples to apples comparison. A ford Focus will get you from A to B just like a Porsche but one has distinctly better quality and performance over the other.

I'm not too worried about anyone on here wanting it. Just been a long time member here and thought I'd give this crowd first dibs. Realistically it will probably be taken apart and sold as parts on the HID forum as that audience is less interested in the A to B and more into the quality and performance. My pictures were off a crummy Sony point and click camera so they turned out a bit blurry. I have better videos of the light but really no way to post those.

This is a good deal for someone who wants a very high quality retro-fit and doesn't want to do the work themselves. The LS430 is a pretty sweet projector and the amount of custom work into this project seems pretty solid.

However for those who plan to do the labor themselves (like those posting above) it wouldn't make sense. I was able to retro-fit quad projectors myself for around $600 and have nearly double the output of this setup. Of course they arent LS430s, but FXRs which are right on par with them (they are sold with clear lenses and an already modified shield for excellent color flicker). But labor is expensive on these projects. My next retro will probably be with the LS460s. Just amazing performance.

Good luck with sale. I'm sure someone who doesn't want to do the work will pick these up.

Yes they are. I was going to tear them down and part them out next week though. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you my paypal information.
