Well, I didn't get the big buck yesterday, but I did put a nice doe down. Slight quartering toward shot at 70 yds with the 7mm08 she ran about 40 yds. I almost brought my 44mag revolver with me because I've been trying to get a deer with it since last year, but decided to just stick to the rifle. Well, the day I didn't bring it I get a perfect 70yd shot that would have been fairly easy pistol shot.

Yep, trying to get as much meat as I can. Last year I shot 2, but my brother and dad didn't get any so we didn't have as much as we normally do. I'm out of school tomorow, so me and a buddy are going hunting at my property. Maybe one of us will see a monster, but I'd be happy with another doe.

Well finally got one down this past weekend. Biggest to date with a bow. Had him right under my stand within two minutes of hitting my rattling antlers. He was pissed and looking for a fight. He got the shaft instead. [IMG][/IMG]

Congrats on the buck! I passed up a small 5pt Tuesday evening hoping that it would make it to the next year or walk up the road to my buddy so he could get his first buck. It ended up walking straight to my buddy and he made a perfect shot. We also found where somebody trespassed on our land, shot a spike and a button buck, cleaned them and left the carcasses there. What made it even worse was that we are trying to let the small bucks walk to let them grow, and we have passed both of these bucks up several times this year. I called the game warden and told him exactly who it was (group of fools that lease land beside us), and unfortunantly he said there isn't much they can do because there isn't any proof that they did it.

Today was opening day of duck season here in GA and we ended up with a pretty decent morning, 1 wood duck and 3 ruddy ducks. We had a great spot planned out and knew we would have to beat other people to it, so we showed up at 2AM this morning only to find somebody already set up there. We went to a back up spot a couple hundred yards from the original spot and ended up getting 4 ducks, and the other guys tore up the ducks all morning where we were gonna sit. Hopefully there won't be as many people out there tomorow with it being Sunday and we can get the spot we want.

Ended up with 2 gadwall this morning. Would have had a better morning if these idiots didn't show up 20 mins before shooting light, set up 150 yards from us, and shoot at every duck that flew within 100 yards of them.

Shot it with my open sight Thompson Center Omega muzzle loader. Can't use a scope during muzzle loader hunts here.

thanks! It wasn't too bad. I've had worse! Getting a buck like that definitely makes it worth it.
