Don't mean to hi-jack but just the thread I was looking for!!

I haven't had my 04 Supercrew off road yet as I am concerned about what I hook a strap to in the back and I have no experience with the new Ford front hooks and wonder if they are made of butter like the old Chebbie 1's. I pull very hard with a strap and take long runs as necessary. Leave no one behind!!

I'm reluctant to use the receiver as I have bowed a fair share pulling out buried vehicles and have pulled off chebbie hooks. Got some real gumbo here.

How do the front hooks hold and what is available for the back that DOESN'T fit into the receiver? Think stupid tricks gone bad and we got to get it out.

Get a machine shop to weld you up some 1/2" thick steel brackets that bolt onto the frame with grade 8 bolts. Just be creative and make sure to gusset everything for maximum strength

I have a set of those hooks but I still have my back bumper on. Those look like they up and behind the bumper. From what I've been reading there are no factory rear hooks so I will make something up to fit a clevis.

Are the front hooks strong enough and attached well enough for a hard tug??? Like I said haven't had it out yet and hate breaking stupid. My last off road truck was an early Bronco, 77, that was a toy from day 1.

here are my rear tow hooks... they are front hooks off of a F-350 and i blew 2 holes in my tow system (if thats what its called? lol) and bolted them right up... they are VERY sturdy, very convenient, and they dont look bad at all... there about 2 inches below the bumper

these are bad pics but you get the point
