This thread does a very good job of illustrating how thorough you should be when buying used...

With that being said, I wish i had pictures of all the times my friends and I have been stuck. My friend's dad and brothers own the main gravel/dirt construction company around here so we have plenty of locations to have some fun...the only difference being that we have old beaters to do that with, there is no way I'd treat my good vehicles like that.

yeah, if i had a king ranch i would never take it through mud, but even with my truck (after drifting around a corner, losing control and almost sliding into a creek) i usually just crawl through the mud while some of my friends with nicer trucks than me haul through the ruts goin like 30

And what makes you think that this is my nice vehicle. Personally my F150 is my beater... and its a 99, call it junk if you want.

Even with everything ive done to my truck its still the most dependable vehicle ive ever drove.

Rented Escape earlier this year, driving down on a lakebed that was down about 30 feet just to hang out with a girl who was in town to visit. Was the car she rented to come see me in, talked her into wheeling it, ended up with a shock ripped off the back end and hours of digging and dragging to get 'er out, lol!

LoL, actually it was my Dad's SUV, I think it's a Kia Sportage. He lives right there, so we had all the time in the world, and my truck was at my house, so we used what was handy.
