Cool

HI!... GLASSWAVE : What I've always done to check my posie's are to jack the rear of the truck up and put it on jack stands. Put the tranny in neutral. Get a buddy to hold one sides tire as hard as he/she can. Then you grap the opposite tire and try to turn it. If you can turn it very easily and the other tire does'nt try to turn at all, then you either don't actually have posi (open differencal) or your factory posi is #%$&ed up. If you are fithing your buddy to try to turn the tire and can only move it the same amouny he/she can move theirs, then your posi is fine. You might just also have to add a bit more friction modifier to the rearend oil. Hope this helps you out.

Another way is to jack up one rear wheel and apply torque wrench to one of the nuts of the lifted wheel. You should have 50 lbs of torque or more on average

Question How can you test your Limited Slip performance?

I have a 2000 with LS. On slippery snow I seem to be able to get my limited slip to catch about 50% of the time. Pushing on or feathering the brakes or park brake only helps occasionally.

Does this mean my LS is having problems? Is there a more reliable way to test this?

Thanks,
Neal
