Question Replacement hubs

My local service manager says that the auto locking hubs are weak.My 98 has a manual t-case and auto hubs,I want to replace them with manual hubs. Who makes the best and what do you think about this.

If that 98 is an F-150, then your service manager is weak and needs to be replaced. '97 and up doesn't use the locked/free-wheeling hub idea. Uses a right axle disconnect built into the front diff.

Maybe he was just confused period! Hubs on a 98.... did you make sure he re-packed the muffler bearings and topped off the blinker fluid too?

But seriously... if you had a pre-97, then, yes, it is a weak design and prone to failure. Warn, MileMarker, and a plethora of other companies make good quality manual hubs for between $150 and $300 a set (both sides). [mutter, mutter, hubs?!..... ] I would like to see him install a set!
