ok heres the deal got a 97 f150 4x4 4.6 v-8 last week I started it and the 4 wheel drive light was flashing and you could hear it clicking. finally stoped when it did it was in 2wh. Got home next day started it up 4x4 light came back on but didnt seem to be in 4 wheel drive. Well monday started to work light still on everything fine till i turn into gas station then you could tell it went to 4 wheel drive. My question is this how can i disconnect it and do it safely with out having to worry that it may jump back into 4h or even 4low.

I need help with this bad just scared to screw something up..
