4.10 or 4.30

I have a 04 supercrew dropped 4.5-6" on 24" rims with 275-30-24 tires which are 30.5" tall, I have sct tuner, banks exhaust, troyer efans, jlt intake. After I put the 24s on I lost a little of my get up and go and a little MPG. I have 3.55 limited slip now I just can't decide on which gears would be the best what's y'alls opinions? Thanks

30" tall tires and going to those gear ratios is gonna kill your mpg's b/c your rpm's will be screaming going down the highway... did that with my old camaro back in the day... 4.10's and i was hitting bout 2800 on the highway at 60. you lost a lil pep due to the heavier weight of the 24's... law of inertia.... heavier spinning mass will require more power to make it turn.

"Back in the day" transmissions didn't have overdrive. If you were hitting 2800 at 60 then, if you had a 0.7 overdrive you would have been doing 1960.

Going with a taller tire raise's the gearing. going with a lower gear will put it closer to where it was/should be. I think if your gonna spend the money to change 4.30 is the place to be.. 4.10 isnt enough to justify the expense.

X2

Unless you do a lot of highway driving. I've been going back and forth on the 4.10 vs 4.30 subject for the past year. When you take into account the weight of the truck and if you do/don't cruise on the highway a lot, it really seems quite obvious.

I run a 23" wheel with a 32 inch high tire.
4:10s is just right for them. And it's still not bad in the winter running my stock 16"s

I say the 4:10 would be plenty for your combo.

What rpms you turning at 75mph and the only reason throwing the possibility of the 4.30s out there is because the guy I'm having do mine has the same truck running stock diameter tires changed to 4.10 and he said he should have done 4.30s

With my stock tires I run about 2400RPMs and with the big wheels I run about 2200 RPMs at 75mph.
