4x4 poping and grinding

having problems with my 4x4 . i tried to engage it when i was leaving my house and when i got half way down my street (100 feet or so) i could hear and kinda feel a fairly loud pop come from the drivers front . shortly after that i was turning right at a stop sign and again i could here and feel it kinda like it's binding up or not fully engaging .. this happened a few time more through out the day when turning , and it always seemed like it was the front drivers side... anyone know or have had similer problems ? any help would be great , we got about a foot of snow last night so i need my 4x4 working....please help guys

Unless you have a TON of miles on it, a 2007 should still be under warranty - take it to the dealer. It probably needs an IWE.

yea your right , it is under warranty still exept i have a 6'' lift .so thats why i was trying to figure out what might be the problem before i go to the stealership...i dont think the lift is to blame because i used my 4x4 alot last winter without any problems... could you explain an IWE ?
thanks

I was having that same problem on my 04, took it to my mechanic, ended up being the vacuum line for the 4x4.

I would check Shift fork in fron Axle.

I went throught all the same stuff you guys did. I found the shift fork wore out.

I had to replace it on my 03'. I do not know if 04' are the same...but what you discribed sounded just like mine.

The 04+ trucks use integrated wheel ends, not a lock in the differential.
