Rear broken lugs, anybody got any ideas?

I have a 99F150 4x4. I broke a couple of the rear lugs and was wondering if there is another way to change them out besides pulling the axle out..

have you tried a good whap with a 16 oz hammer? if you get it out,,,,put a new one in (i would use factory replacement stud) , put several washers on the outside , and toruque down the nut to pull the stud on in. If you can just get it started,, then putting the wheel back on, then the nut should pull it in to seat it. I've done this a few times, only other thing i would say is let the knurles go in the same grooves that the old one came out. then will be easier to pull in.

the problem I have is getting the old ones out from the dust shield or back plate, not enough room to get it turned out
