You have a 4x4 right? I don't think you can buy reverse cut 4:30s for the front.

If you are 4WD, there is no 4.30 ratio for the front 8.8 IFS reverse rotation! you must choose either 4.10 or 4.56. keep in mind that much of the mustang crowd chooses 4.10's w/ their tiny *** street tires! on your big truck, choose the 4.56 or 4.88.

thanks for letting me know I did not know that. I did not catch it because I was going to do the rear first then the front. so I am going to run 4:56. I am just worried that its going to be to much cause I drive highway a lot to work.

Can i ask ya something, and not bashing in any way, but why do you have a huge, lifted truck, if your worried about MPG ? Just curious, because this gear swap will most likely hurt MPG's on the highway. Is it mostly bumper to bumper ? Or open highway driving ? Also, a locker is going to hurt your MPGs.... so... ???

no no I am not worried about mpg. its really about what rpms the truck will be running. if you dont keep up with everyone else on the highway your going to get hit or hit someone. where I live they dont care what you drive they will cut you off ride your a$$ or what ever. The average speed around here is anywhere from 65-85 mph.

awwww ! Gotcha then ! Well, I figured it might be something like that. Trust me, you will be fine ! Plus, you'll be able to get going much quicker. Like I said, I plan on running 4.88 gears, as do a lot of members on here, for that added umph. I tow often, so any help I can get, I will take. So, it sounds like 4.56 gears would be perfect, and you'll be reall stoked with them. You can try finding some guys on this site with a similar set-up, and ask them about what RPM's they are running at on highway.
