now i noticed that it says "A notched cross pin shaft is required for this gear set."

what does that mean?

also is this the gears for the front and back being that they are both 8.8?
have no clue what A notched cross pin is???

the gears in the link will work on the REAR of the truck. but for the front you will need 4.88R because the front axle is REVERSE CUT (R)

come wheel with us !!

******: reverse cut = front (like trimble said )

The notched cross pin, most likely is referring to little cross pins that are located in the planetary gear set-up. I assume one needs to be notch for clearence. i haven't seen this before, and am simply assuming here. Thats the only thing I could think of that would be a "notched cross pin".

yup, I was right !!

Its the pin going through, in the planetary gears. Needs to be notched for clearence. Plenty of places sell em.
