Buying gears

Is there a discount or member with a connection for buying ring and pinion gear? Planning to re-gear and may be ordering soon.

My installer said Ford is practically "giving them away".

3.31s and 3.55s for the 9.75 are pretty inexpensive from Ford right now at around $182.00 a set but 3.73s are up around $413.00.

Hard to beat OEM quality when it comes to gears.

Just got funds lined up to get 4.10 gears installed around Christmas. Can't wait. I'll update results at that time.

Check out East Coast Gear Supply. Chase and Ryan are good guys, and will usually have competitive prices, especially if you buy install kits with the gears. If you are anywhere near Raleigh/ Durham they do excellent work. They installed my 4.10s.

I recently had a set of 305/70/16 BFG All Terrains put on my 2000 4.6L 5 speed. Really killed my power. I found this http://www.fordf150.net/howto/decode.php article through search. My truck's axle is labeled 27. It's an F150 but I guess that still means it has 3.31 non-limited slip gears?

Recommendations on what gear ratio to buy?
