4.10's on a 4.2?
Whats the feeling with this set up. I got bigger tires so a gear change may be needed but how do the 4.10's work with the v-6. I don't wanna spend 550 on them then have my gas milage drop while having the engine squeel all the time. Is the RPM,noise, money worth it?

My last truck was a 97 4.2 5-speed with a 3.08. It was a dog off the line, even with a K&N and Flowmaster. I had a 3.73 installed and it made it a different truck. I wish I had gone with the 4.10, since I didn't want to loose any torque when I upgraded the factory tires. MPG difference was negligible. Go to www.ring-pinion.com. It has a RPM calculator that will help you out.
