What is the axle code on the door jamb sticker? That will tell you the ratio and whether it's LS or not. Use Google and type "ford axle xx" where xx is the door jamb code. If it's 2 numbers it's open, if it's a letter and number it's LS. To positively determine the *size* you have to look at the metal tag on the axle itself. I'm thinking the 7700 package has 10.25" but it may be 9.75".

If you have a 4.6 engine, it will be an 8.8. If a 5.4, it will be a 9.75. As already stated, if a 7700lb, it could be either the 9.75 or a 10.25.

How are you going to get the axle out of the VIN?

Being a Ford dealer I would enter the vin code into my computer and all this wonderful info is available to me.
