How do I know what size my rear end is and if it has LS

im just wondering is there a way to find out what size the gearing is in my diff and if it has the limited slip option through the VIN or anything? i dont have the window sticker or anything like that just the sticker in the door jam

What is the axle code on the door jamb sticker? That will tell you the ratio and whether it's LS or not. Use Google and type "ford axle xx" where xx is the door jamb code. If it's 2 numbers it's open, if it's a letter and number it's LS. To positively determine the *size* you have to look at the metal tag on the axle itself. I'm thinking the 7700 package has 10.25" but it may be 9.75".

If you have a 4.6 engine, it will be an 8.8. If a 5.4, it will be a 9.75. As already stated, if a 7700lb, it could be either the 9.75 or a 10.25.

If you still need a answer, pm me your vin number and i'll run it for you.

How are you going to get the axle out of the VIN?

Being a Ford dealer I would enter the vin code into my computer and all this wonderful info is available to me. :)
