4:10?

4:10?

Were 4:10's ever an option in a 97-03 f150? My truck is a 4.2vp 5spd w 3:08 and what a dog! was thinkin about goin to the local junk yard and gettin a rear 8.8 and front diff w 4:10.

do not if its an option but I am sure you could find one good luck some one in here I am sure could tell you for sure I know you can buy one but if you can get it off a junker alot more easier on the wallet

Well I just picked up my truck last night. What a difference w 4:10's!!!! I should of done this years ago. Now i just have to save my pennys to do the front diff

I guess you should have, but if you only have a 2WD, then you only have the rear diff to do...

Or you did do only the rear diff on your 4x4 in an effort to do both axles anyway because you are going to bind up the drivetrain and smash everything to pieces...

As long as he doesn't engage the 4 wheel drive, nothing will happen.

What is the goin rate for front and rear diffs to get done? I just paid 325 for the parts and 250 labor for the rear. The front i expect to be a lil more expesive due to having to pull the diff itself

Whats a higher gear ratio do? Better accel and speed or better gas mileage?

Way better acceleration. The truck doesent have to labor just to move.I still have to fix my spedo before i can make any gas milage claims. Dont forget i made a huge jump going from 3:08-4:10

I paid 900 for parts and labor on a 4.10 set of Superior gears and rebuild kit.

WOW... $575.00 for the rear it must be an 8.8 rearend, I got hosed!!! I just paid $735.00 for 4:10's in my 05' it's the 9.75 rearend but still! 4Wheel Parts got me good!!
