Unhappy What front rearend do I have?

I have a 05 F-150 5.4 FX4 4x4 flare side, And I want to put in 4.56 gears.
I need some info about what to order. I looked up the new gears at a few different places but became confused. They say 8.8 and some say 8.8 Ifs, and yet anouther say's 8.8 Rev.
Are the 8.8 Rev like the old Broncos that are reverse driven? Or does that mean something else? And how do I find out for sure whats in there? I have the off~road package if this helps. And another thing, Will these gears mount rite in the case I have, or do I need to order a new carrier? Or anything else special I need to purchase? Thanks for your time and info!!

that just means reverse rotation for the front. the ifs is for independant front suspension. you should only need a shim kit, your bearings should be fine in that new of a truck. you won't need a new carrier unless you want to go with a limited slip or locker. if you need more traction i would go ahead and get one while your at it so you don't end up havin to tear it down again later.
