I'm putting 33s on my 05 STX 4.6L 4x2 with 3.55s and was wondering what you guys think would be the best ratio to regear to. I was thinking 4.10s but would 4.30s be too much? Would the 4.30s kill my gas mileage that much?

 

If you do alot of highway and you dont plan on going any bigger then maybe go with 4.10. I would go with 4.56 for many reasons. Your city mpg will get alittle better, although your highway will be worse, im sure your 4.6 could use more low end, just dont make up for the tires get some extra. Better towing. Room for future mods...if you go bigger you wont have to spend the money again. For the small loss in mpg you will get a much better ride.And it will be easier on your engine with all the torque multiplication.. Don't fear the gear!!!!

 

That's what I was thinking. That's why I was thinking of 4.30s. 4.56s would be too much because when I move I'm going to be driving 60mi to work one way. I only have to make the drive once every third day though.

 

Do the 4.30's you will love them..
