Given that Ford is basically putting most of its eggs in the truck/crossover/SUV basket, do you think we could see a new version of the Lightening. Because I think this rendering looks pretty sick, and would love to see it make production. What do you think? Check out more pics here.

 

Put the EcoBoost from the Mustang under the hood, and they'd be most of the way there...

 

That's going to be the standard and only engine anyway, 2.3 Ecoboost 4 banger retuned for truck duty.

Nope, 10 speed automatic only.

 

Interesting, only a 10 speed auto.

 

The only new trucks still offering a manual are the 3/4 and 1 ton Ram with a diesel, and the Nissan Frontier. Everything else is automatic only.

I have driven a newer Nissan Frontier with the V6 4x4 with the 6 speed MT. Very nice truck, just wish it was a 1/2 tonner.
