R.I.P Ford Ranger
the only complaint i had about my ranger was cab space, but as far as strength and power shoot that was one tuff mule. an it just had the 3.0. i hauled many a loads of hay, wood(some split and some whole logs) never once did that truck let me down. i just needed more room. and i got a good deal on an '01 f150 4x4 larait package so i traded.

I dont think it would have the power for a crew cab. My last truck was an 04 ranger FX4 Level II witha 4.0 v6 which was great but they need more power to compete with Toyota.
Really for what the intent of a small truck is, the 207hp 4.0 is plenty, that is more snort than most 302's had in F-150's for a long while. Even the 160hp OHC was pretty spunky in a Ranger.

As I recall they also have a turbo diesel availble in the Mexican trucks. Until recently the only engine you could get in the Sport Trac was the 4.0, I bet it would handle a crew cab just fine.
a crewcab with Duratorq diesel is sold in every market but America and Canada
