some SOB decided to try to pry my door open. what the hell. just because you cant afford it or dont have it, dont take someone elses or mess up theirs. police came out and took prints from the door (and me) and said they will call if they get any "hits". i hope so. im really pissed off about this. took it to ford for an estimate and, take a seat, they said $1200!!! wow! doesnt look like $1200 worth of damage. thank god for insurance. mitch

Angry

This is obviously the work of the truly " low-life" element of society. A few years ago, some of the same type broke into my truck and, when they couldn't find the removeable face plate to my CD player, which I had in my pocket, they just took a tire iron or big screwdriver and totally destroyed the CD player anyways. As if to say, " well, we can't steal it so we'll wreck it instead". A shameful side to our so-called civilization that we could all do without. Good luck on the insurance claim and repairs...

Grrr!!!!

I've seen that before. A few years ago someone did that at my parents house (Nice neighborhood with good lighting). They only managed to actually get into my brother's truck. The jackass's (Yes they were caught a few weeks later breaking into a house across the street) pried the handle off the door. Once the handle is off they can just pull up on the lever and unlock the door.

My truck is too big to get into my garage so I'm always uneasy when I park it at home overnight. Makes me think again about installing an alarm, maybe one that sends an electric shock to any jerk that touches the door handle

I saw an anti-theft mechanism from South Africa that shoots a big ball of flame out from under the vehicle is you dont have the key and trigger the system.

Must have been a driver of a Chevy. Who got really jealous of the better truck. Sorry to see it happen though. I've had some one steal my spare. They just cut the cable right off. I found it was gone when I got my new rims put on. Just ruined the whole day. Good luck.

that sucks! Though I say take the $1200, buy yourself a new handle (you can get em already painted) and some touch up paint. Either that or take the $1200 and take your F-150 to a "non-ford dealership" body shop and get it done for half the price.

I caught someone staring in my window and a slim-jim in his hand when I was downtown one night. Now, I'm a purple belt in tae kwon do... I dont need to tell you what happened next.

oh yeah- my windows are tinted now.

I'm with Matt on this one and use the money saved and invest it on a good alarm system. It would save you money in the long run since most insurance companies will give you a discount on your rate.

Sorry buddy, does make me sick to see that. This would be a good opportunity to retrofit it with the keyless entry keypad though.

I agree with Matt and Dennis

Take what money you can get (1200) and have a non-Ford shop do it then invest in a d@*n good alarm.

Bobby
You gotta be joking. Took the new one and put the old one back. Did they hook it up for ya too? Hey at least they brought you the old one, they could of left your wife stranded.

Hey bobby tingle,

I hope you had at least small chuckle when you saw that the new battery was gone. It's sick and twisted but maybe that was their plan; Steal the old battery to get you to by a new one so they know when they come back that they'll be able to steal a fresh one.
